Sudbury Charities Sudbury offers many oppurtunities to give, but we may not know of them. Here's a simple guide to help you understand the charitable organizations in our town. Please note: This page is new. If there is an organization missing, please send the administrator a private message so that information can be updated. F.I.S.H.: is a volunteer organization that provide transportation for Sudbury residents to medical appointments. The volunteer drivers are under no obligation to accept any assignment unless it fits comfortably into their schedule. F.I.S.H. is a great way to help your neighbors in need. HOPE Sudbury: HOPEsudbury is a grassroots nonprofit organization designed to engage Sudbury citizens from all walks of life in efforts to provide humanitarian aid to people in need. HOPEsudbury has sponsored a variety of community events and drives, distributing close to $175,000 to the HOPEsudbury Community Assistance Fund and to other charitable organizations both at home and abroad. Each year HOPEsudbury awards grants to programs that provide aid to people in need, both at home and abroad. This year, HOPEsudbury has selected one international, one national and one local organization each to receive a $1000 grant. (taken from the Town Crier) Sudbury Angels: Sudbury Angels is a group of over 200 families in town who have been helping individuals and/or families who are facing a short term crisis in their lives. This crisis does not have to be life-threatening. Recipients' needs have gone from broken bones to more serious illnesses and everything in between. The Angels want to make sure no one in Sudbury is unaided because they may not have access to support or may have more extensive needs than their support system can fulfill. Angels accept no donations for the help they provide. This is simply about neighbors helping neighbors. Volunteers are always welcome. (taken from the Town Crier) Sudbury Villagers: Sudbury Villagers is a women's organization to develop continuing fellowship and perform service to the community. Membership is open to current and former residents of Sudbury. There are clubs within including: Book Browsers, Bridge Groups, Dining Groups and more. Civic porject include: baking for bloodmobiles, holiday decorating of the Hosmer House, and collecting money and gifts for those in need. (taken from the Town Crier)
